Venice and Milan, Italy

Venice was picture perfect in every way. I am not one to sit and take pictures, but I could fill a memory card with one walk around Venice.

^^We carried a sleeping Lizzy all over the rainy city.^^

We were only in Venice one night, and our day spent there was rainy, but it did not dampen our spirits. We got so caught up in the beauty of the place that we almost missed our train. However, there is something stressful satisfying about running through the narrow streets and over canal bridges to make a train right as the doors are closing. We could not have made that train without Jari, who we were leaving behind in Venice as she took her trip to Turkey.

^^Lizzy was finally happy to be on a train.^^

We were heading to Milan to try and get a glimpse of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper. We had tried to get tickets 4 month in advance, but they were already sold out, and no last minute tickets are offered. However, we still enjoyed our night in Milan. We walked to the main square to see the Duomo di Milano, and walked around the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Right as we turned the corner and came into view of the Cathedral (Duomo di Milano) music began to play as a free concert started in the square. The timing was so perfect it was like walking in a movie. Lizzy was in awe of the birds, while we enjoyed the buildings. The high end shopping in the Galleria was too expensive for us to eat dinner. So instead we grabbed some of the best pizza from our time in Italy.

The last we saw of Italy was the Milan Train Station, which is the most impressive station I have ever seen, good job Mussolini. And with that we were off to Switzerland.
